AN INTRODUCTION
My name is Dane Messall and I am a creative multi-tool working in Minneapolis, MN. Designing and coding usable interactive experiences is what I do. I’m fueled by coffee and I commute by bike. PROCESS
Process is very important in creating a successful project. Here is just a quick overview of how I attack a project.
Inspiration
This stage is focused on gathering information and setting project goals. Finding inspiration is also crucial and sparks a sketching process which leads into the design stage.
Design
The design stage is about focusing on creating a great user experience. It begins with information architecture, wireframing and eventually moving onto creating polished designs.
Develop
This stage can overlap with design depending on the project type. For an interactive project this stage is focused on the website build.

Brainco January 2011 to Current
Instructor Currently a part-time instructor teaching a class that introduces students to the basics of HTML and CSS.
ClockWork November 2010 to February 2011
Interactive Design Intern Worked closely with Design Director to create engaging designs for client projects. Also worked on the front-end development of client websites..
Unearthed Music April 2010 to August 2010
Front-End Web Developer Redesigned Unearthed Music and brought content up to date. Was also responsible for bringing attention to Unearthed Music through social media.
